Kevin Phillips was today celebrating after his wife, Julie, gave birth to twins - a boy and a girl.

The Sunderland striker, who scored his 50th Premiership goal in the Black Cats' 2-0 win over Leeds on Sunday, was at his wife's hospital bedside when Tia and Toby were born.

Tia, who arrived at 8.46am, weighed in at 5lb 13oz, followed by Toby at 8.47am, weighing 6lb 5oz.

England star Kevin and Julie already have a daughter, Mille.

Meanwhile, Phillips' team-mate Michael Gray insisted he was staying at the Stadium of Light.

The long-serving Mackems' skipper has been linked to Celtic, West Ham, Blackburn and Aston Villa.

But Gray, 27, said: "You can't stop speculation and I have seen reports of me interesting other clubs. But it has never been in my mind to leave Sunderland.

"The manager has always made it clear that I'm part of his plans and that's good enough for me. All I'm interested in is getting us back up the league."
