Radlett climbed to the top of the Herts Premier Division with a convincing six-wicket win at home to Letchworth Garden City on Saturday.

The hosts won the toss and opted to put their opponents into bat. Letchworth cobbled together a score of 215 for nine from 60 overs.

Kabir Toor caught the eye with the ball as he snared three for 61 from 17 overs. Shane Burger picked up two for 17 and Ben Lederman finished with figures of two for 33.

Radlett made a solid start to their run chase with Fraser Crawford opening with a knock of 35. Toor hit 30 and Joe Cooke chipped in with 32. The top scorer was Jonathan McLean as he hit 88 off 76 balls.

His performance guided the side to a comfortable victory as they reached the target for the loss of 43.1 overs.

The league leaders take on Bishop’s Stortford this weekend.

In Division Two A, Radlett Seconds suffered a four-wicket defeat against Preston.

Radlett were dismissed for 118 in 37.5 overs and their opponents required just 31.3 overs to knock off the runs for the loss of six wickets.

But Radlett Thirds eased to a five-wicket win over Preston Seconds in Division Five A.

Preston were restricted to 205 for eight from their innings and Radlett comfortably reached the target with five wickets to spare.

Radlett Fourths were beaten by four wickets in their Division Seven B game against Ware.

After winning the toss, Radlett opted to bat but the decision backfired as they were skittled out for just 111.

Ben Scott scored 19 while Eddie Saunders hit 23 and William Wright contributed 21. Richard Hardy chipped in with 18 but the rest of the side failed to get going at all.

Ware reached the target for the loss of six wickets despite Anje Lague finishing with four for 41.

Shenley Village were held to a draw in their Championship match against Chorleywood.

Batting first, Shenley managed to score a total of 246 for six from their innings. Lloyd Willingham was in superb form for the side scoring an unbeaten 101. Tom Bruce scored 65 while Neal Kanabar chipped in with 27. In reply, Chorleywood came close to winning as they ended on 242 for eight.

Bruce’s impressive contribution continued after taking four wickets while Thurston picked up three.

Shenley Village Seconds eased to a 122-run victory over Old Cholmeleians in Division Five B.

The side scored a total of 196 for seven from their innings.

A strong bowling display skittled the opposition out for 74 in 23.3 overs.
