Arsenal Ladies, who play their home games at Boreham Wood’s Meadow Park, have bolstered their squad with the double signing of Bristol Academy pair Jemma Rose and Natalia Pablos Sanchon.
Rose, 22, is a defender, whilst 29-year-old Pablos Sanchon is a forward who has worked with manager Pedro Martinez Losa previously at Spanish side Rayo Vallecano.
The duo won the Spanish Cup together in 2008 – the first major trophy in the club’s history.
Losa and Pablos Sanchon then went on to win the league title in 2009 and 2010.
Speaking about the addition of the Spanish international to the club’s website, Losa said: “Natalia is a player I know very well from our time together at Rayo Vallecano.
“She was a natural goalscorer in Spain and she has proven she can score goals in England too with Bristol.
“She has a great character and will add a lot to our team. I am very pleased she has decided to join us.”
England youth international Rose was named in the FA Women’s Super League young player of the in 2011 and also scooped the gong for the goal of the season in the same year.
Rose was captain of Bristol Academy last season and commenting on her arrival, Losa said: “Jemma is a player who will fit in very well at Arsenal. She is a good technical player, able to play out from the back.
“She is good in the air and athletic too. She is a young player with lots of potential and I look forward to working with her.”
