Radlett celebrated winning the Readers Herts County Cup after an eight-wicket victory at home to Sawbridgeworth on Sunday.

The visitors batted first and were struggling on 64 for five.

It did not get much better for Sawbridgeworth as they were dismissed for 127 in 43.5 overs.

Kabir Toor was the pick of the Radlett bowlers as he returned figures of four for 22.

In response, Radlett reached 58 for two. Jono McLean came in and scored a useful 31 not out while Shane Burger chipped in with an unbeaten 40.

It completed a comfortable victory for the side with more than 26 overs remaining.

The win was another success for Radlett after last month’s Herts Twenty20 finals triumph.

In the Premier Division, Radlett wrapped up a comprehensive ten-wicket win over Stevenage.

Their opponents were all out for 187 from 45.3 overs. Radlett had no problems chasing this down and it took just 23.4 overs for them to wrap up the points and their 11th successive win in the league.

In Division Two, Radlett Seconds secured a seven-wicket victory over County Hall.

Their opponents could only manage 146 all out from their innings.

This left Radlett to chase down the target which they achieved in 25.3 overs.

Division One champions Shenley Village celebrated with a high scoring six-wicket victory over Kings Langley on Saturday.

Kings Langley batted first and were in impressive form with the bat as they finished on 302 for four from their innings.

This was a challenge for Shenley Village but they proved up to it as they reached the target for the loss of four wickets in 42.4 overs.

Anooj Vadgama struck 46 for the side but the outstanding performance came from teenager Charlie Thurston as he struck a brilliant 172.

It continued the form 18-year-old Thurston has produced in recent weeks.

Shenley Village will celebrate their title victory with their final league game at home to Hitchin tomorrow.
