A group of schoolchildren held their end-of-year show and this year for the first time the performance was at the Radlett Theatre.

The children from Hertsmere Jewish Primary School, in Radlett, performed an adapted version adaptation of Oliver Twist customised penned by head teacher Steven Isaacs.

Mr Isaacs and assistant head teacher Natasha Rubin and other faculty members including students were rehearsing the production in the last six weeks before the performance on July 12.

Mr Isaacs said: “It’s wonderful to give the children an opportunity to perform on a real stage in a real theatre in front of a real audience – not just their parents.

“The children learn so much from this type of experience, and for many it has transformed their confidence and self-esteem.

“The children are so excited to be a part of this real-life production and we are so proud of them for working so hard to make this a huge success we know it will be.

“I have seen all our children shine like they have never done before.

“This is an experience and leavers performance that they will never forget.”

The lead of Oliver was given to Jessica Adda. Other main cast members of Oliver with a Twist included Mr Bumble, played by Rafi Shimon Shorrick, The Artful Dodger by Joshua Harris, Faegan by Rafael Braffey, Bill Sykes by Jack Wolborm and Nancy by Jaime Shaffer.

More than 600 people attended both production nights and just under £3,000 was raised for the school and this will go towards new interactive white boards for the school.
