A beauty queen who has made it to the finals of the Miss England competition says her “success does not feel real”.

Charlotte White, who works for Borehamwood construction company J Reddington Limited, won the competition finale on Sunday.

The 23-year-old, of Ebury Road, Borehamwood, will now travel to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry for a two-day competition on Saturday, August 13.

More than 50 girls will be competing in the final.

The competitors have been fundraising for Beauty with a Purpose. Charlotte White, 23, said: “I can’t wait. It doesn’t feel real at all at the moment.

“On the Saturday, there will be the Eco Round. This is a fun round where the judges see the girl’s creativity. We have to design an outfit or dress made out of recyclable products. This year’s theme is James Bond.

“There is also a Talent Round. All of the girls have been asked to make a Video 2 minutes long.

“Out of 52 girls competing, there will be a top 10 and then the top 3 will perform on the night of Miss England on the 14th August.

“Definitely not what most of the population believe as many of the public are stuck with the stereotype of the 70's pageants.”

She is no stranger to beauty pageants, having last year won the Miss Hertfordshire title where she raised £3,000 for Beauty with a Purpose.

Her sponsor for the competition is Agno Dental in High Street, Rickmansworth.
