A beauty queen says she is thrilled to represent "my home town" in the semi-finals of the Miss England competition.

Charlotte White, who works who works for Borehamwood construction company J Reddington Limited, has reached the semi-finals of the Miss England competition, which will be held at the Kelham Hall and Country Park, Nottinghamshire, on Sunday, July 5.

She hopes to continue raising money for charity and raise awareness about Child Abuse.

The 23-year-old, who is also Miss Rickmansworth, will have to make a dress out of recyclable products for the semi-final and the woman with the best dress will be fast-tracked straight through to the final.

The competitor who raises the most money will also be fast-tracked the final, which will be held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Friday, August 14.

70 competitiors are expected to take part in the Miss England semi-final.

She said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the semi-finals of Miss England especially representing my home town. I am very excited and nervous at the same time.

£If I won a place in the final I would be one step closer to my dream, If I won Miss England, I would like to continue raising money for different charities and would also like to raise awareness about Child Abuse.

“Last year I raised more than £3,000 for the BWAP Charity. So far this year, I have just over £1,000 as well as raising money for other charities, such as Barnardos and HAB – Homeless Action in Barnet – where I have helped serve food and slept rough, helping to raise more than £21,000”.
