The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of wind for south west Hertfordshire.
Gusts could reach up to 60mph in exposed areas, and the public are being warned of disruption to transport and possibly also power supplies.
The chief forecaster at the Met Office said a band of squally rain is also likely. The warning is in place until 3pm today.
