Cup cakes and pumpkins were decorated as a theatre company put on a Halloween party for children.
More than 40 children turned up at The Ark Theatre, in Thrift Farm Lane, Borehamwood, yesterday for Herts Inclusive Theatre’s half term Halloween event.
Herts Inclusive Theatre is a non-profit organisation offering children and adults, many of whom have learning and physical disabilities, the opportunity to participate in drama, dance and music in a safe environment.
Along with decorating cup cakes and carving pumpkin lanterns, the children aged from four to 16 also sat down to a screening of Wallace and Gromit’s ‘The Curse of the Were Rabbit’ with free popcorn.
Deputy Mayor Martin Worster attended the event, joining in with a number of games with the children.
Assistant producer Carly Young said: “The children have had a brilliant time taking part in the various activities on offer and have really loved coming along dressed in their Halloween costumes’.’
“We were really thrilled that the Mayor was in attendance and delighted when he took to the stage to take part in our special Halloween games.
“We certainly didn’t expect the Mayor to be ‘mummified’ by all our HIT children. He was a great sport.’’
