The Jewish community will be joining millions of people worldwide in celebrating ‘a Sabbath like no other’ with a series of special events this weekend.
The Chief Rabbi’s Shabbat UK calls upon all Jewish people to observe one special sabbath with all its traditions and laws, observing the weekly day of rest that starts at sundown on Friday and ends at sunset on Saturday.
Families across Borehamwood will enjoy a song and dance this evening as they celebrate Kaballat Shabbat and Ma’ariv, led by Shabbaton choir master Stephen Levey, while members of the community will host neighbours and friends in their homes to explore the Shabbat Experience.
Saturday night will also play host to a family friendly fireworks display, held at Yavneh College, which has sold out of all 500 tickets – with 95 bags of marshmallows ready for the event.
